Since 1975, Bridges Connecting Communities, (formerly Knox Community Volunteers), has been
dedicated to providing volunteer services to the City of Knox and parts of the Yarra Ranges.
Bridges is a not for profit organisation which has been delivering services to the elderly and people with a disability in the Knox and South West Yarra Ranges for over 40 yrs. All our services promote independence and socialisation using a centred person approach to ensure services are fulfilling the needs of our clients.
Bridges operates under the guidelines provided by the Department of Health and Human services through Commonwealth Home Support Program and Vic Home and Community Care Program. Bridges delivers services at the highest standard and complies with the Home Care Standards whilst working to improve the health and wellbeing of our community.
Bridges is lucky to have around 250 wonderful volunteers who add value to a range of support services which include Transport, Community Access, Pet Companion Program, Social Activities and our Shopping Bus.
Bridges is an inclusive organisation which welcomes everyone to access our services. We have a dedicated inclusion project to ensure members of culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) and lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex (LGBTI) communities are welcomed.
Bridges Connecting Communities is supported by financial assistance from the Commonwealth and Victorian Governments.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED, please contact us if you are interested in volunteering with us. Students studying Community Health subjects are also encouraged to do placement hours through Bridges.
