Board of Directors

The Board of Bridges Connecting Communities Ltd is committed to the establishment and management of volunteer organisation for the benefit of the citizens of Knox and surrounding areas. Bridges provides an extensive range of services and programs for frail aged and people with a disability.

The Board is composed of people who have an understanding of the local community and the needs of the community. The Board members have a range of interests and skills to facilitate the smooth and effective governance of the organisation. Members must adhere to the Code of Ethics and operate within all legal requirements.

 

Chairperson- Janette Etherington

Senior  manager and director with experience in the Retail and Vocational Education & Training sectors

Bachelor of Arts degree and Graduate Diploma of Management

 

Currently a volunteer director with Bridges and the Bendigo Bank, and a volunteer with FareShare - rescuing food, fighting hunger

Member of the Rotary Club of Nunawading

Committed to working and volunteering in the not-for-profit and community sectors, helping individuals and communities to build capacity - in particular overcoming disadvantage and barriers to employment, food security and living independently 

 

 

Board Member- Philip McNaught

Joined Bridges as a volunteer in 2015 and joined the Board in the same year

Early positions held with the then Country Roads Board (now Vic Roads)

Worked in Real Estate from 1980 for several years then self-employed in a newsagency and Tattslotto agency for 25 years.

Looking forward to being part of Bridges future in the community

Board Member - Colin Fletcher

Joined the Board in May 2017

Colin has served the Wantirna and broader Knox community holding many voluntary positions on School Council, Sporting club committees, serving as a schools ambassador and community representative. Colin has served as a Director of the Wantirna Community Bendigo Bank.Colin’s extensive HR knowledge and experience has been acquired through his Senior Management positions within many community organisations over his working career.Colin brings a variety of experience to the board of Bridges.

Retired from Australian Chamber of Manufacturers after 15 years as Manager – Membership Recruitment

Owned Health Food Store in Mornington with wife

Cert IV in Hospitality (Commercial Cookery)

Responsible Serving of Food, Responsible Serving of Alcohol, Responsible Gaming

Held TAB Operators Licence

My aim is to see Bridges grow in client numbers and stature

Board Member- Hendrikus (Henk) Morren

A retired CPA

Been associated with Bridges and associated programs for since 1974

Involved with dog obedience in the City of Knox and grows orchids as a hobby Treasurer of 3 organisations and a director on two other Boards including Bridges

 

Board Member- Denise Budge

Joined the Board in October 2017

Denise brings to Bridges, extensive experience in the Not for Profit sector that covers more than 30 years.Currently managing Knox Infolink, the largest welfare support agency in Knox and previously managing Eastern Community Legal Centre’s Outer East offices for 10 years, combined with17 years’ experience managing the Consumer and Tenant Resource Centre - Outer East, she brings a highly developed skills base that includes, stakeholder and community engagement, program management, organisational development and an in depth knowledge of the outer east.
