Through volunteering you can expect to meet new people and build relationships, develop and strengthen your work and life skills and gain valuable experience.

Volunteering is a rewarding and meaningful experience that draws on your skills, talents and interests to enable you to be a part of the bigger picture and give back to your community.

 We currently need volunteers for our woodwork and craft group and transport drivers.

Bridges would also encourage students

studying community health subjects to do their placement through us.

I have decided to volunteer, what happens now?

You will be asked to complete an application form and an interview will be arranged with our Volunteer Coordinator to discuss what the best role is for you.

A police check will then be arranged and you will be invited to attend one of our Introduction to Volunteering Sessions.

What can I expect from volunteering?

  • Be included as part of the team and supported in your role

What is expected of volunteers?

  • Have fun and be reliable
  • Carry out specific tasks
  • Undertake training
  • Ask for support when needed
  • Agree to a police check and working with childrens check if required
  • Respect confidentiality and support your team members
  • Adhere to the organisations policies and procedures

Volunteer opportunities

People volunteer for many reasons and in many different ways. There is a great deal of satisfaction that comes from making a difference. You can experience volunteer working for causes that you are interested in, or assist in creating change in areas that are importance to you.
