Bridges Individual Programs offer clients a wide-ranging variety of services tailored to their needs.
“Four Paws” Pet Care Program
Four Paws offers support to clients who experience difficulty caring for their pets due to illness, frailty or permanent disability. Four Paws matches animal loving volunteers who understand the importance of animal companionship for our clients.
Volunteers are carefully selected and matched to the clients pet and provide assistance with a variety of pet care needs, including dog walking, grooming and occasionally, vet visits.
Bridges Assisted Shopping Program helps clients that may otherwise struggle to do their shopping on their own. Our volunteers are patient and friendly and make essential shopping possible for the client by picking them up from their own home, taking them to their local shops (which may include, the post office, bank and supermarket for example) and then taking them home.
Phone-a-friend allows clients who are alone, lonely, or isolated the chance to have regular contact with a familiar voice. Clients stay connected and are supported by receiving a free phone call on a regular basis from one of our friendly volunteers. Our Volunteers are great listeners who also have the ability to talk about a wide range of subjects.
Everyday Tech Skills
The Everyday Tech Skills program gives clients the skills needed to use their technology to its full potential in a supportive environment. A patient, skilled tutor will teach clients how to use their devices (eg smart phone, Ipad) in such a way that they are more connected to family and friends. Sessions are held at a range of great venues and transport is available to eligible clients. All abilities are welcome and no previous experience is required to join.
